Multiple Simultaneous associations for a given Peg or Location
Another method for improving efficiency of use of Pegs and Loci....
You can put more than one item at a given location or associated with a given peg....
This is especially true if some of the items in a given list are 'naturally associated' in your mind already.
This is usually the case in fact!!
Paradoxically this can IMPROVE retention, because it improves the chance you have of recalling something about that item, and each item is not just linked to
the location, but also to the other item.!
It is suggested that if you do put more than 1 item at a location, that unless they are obviously VERY LINKED already in your head, that
you stop at 2 items, otherwise it gets less memorable.
